The Cookbook Project

I started The Cookbook Project when I moved out of my dorm and into my first apartment. At my new home, I no longer had a cafeteria or a food court nearby, so I had to learn to cook to survive. I started having fun with it all, I loved decorating my plates, trying out different cuisines, photographing my dishes, and sending the photos to my friends and family. With every day that passed, I fell more in love with cooking. I would go to bed making mental grocery lists and thinking about which recipe I was going to try the next day. I created an Instagram account so that I could share the recipes I liked with two good friends and my sister. One of those friends told me I should make it a public account so that others could follow me as well. I was doubtful at first, but Rose gave me a push and for that I will be forever grateful. I progressed slowly, but significantly over the course of a year. I worked on my cooking skills and on my photography skills, I read and asked questions, I found role models, I bought equipment, and I started taking university classes that I felt would enhance this entire experience. I love what I do now, it has brought me so much joy, diverse career opportunities, and most importantly, it has shown me that I can do anything I set my mind to!
